It’s been a while, but here it is!
Day 27.
Today we drove into chicago. We parked about an hour or less outside of chicago in a rest area and slept there. We woke up and drove into chicago to catch a White Sox game. The tickets for the game were expensive, and parking was expensive too so we decided to skip the game. We drove through the city and went to wrigleyville. We checked out some shops and then ate at a mexican food place that was really good. After we ate, we went down to the hotel to check in and relax for a few. We watched 1000 ways to die, such a funny show! For dinner we went to Giordano’s. Its a hot spot in the heart of chicago that specializes in chicago style deep dish. Laxy and I shared a bread n stuff, it was so delicious. We then cruised around town and made our way back to the hotel.
Day 28.
So last time we stayed at a marriot we missed the complimentary breakfast in the morning. This time Laxy and I were determined to make it to breakfast…and we did! I told everyone I was going to wake them up at no later than 6:30 to get breakfast and everyone but jake said ok. So, I woke up at 6 and tried to wake laxy and adam up but they wouldn’t get up. Laxy said he had his alarm set for 8, so I told him to wake me up when his alarm goes off. I went back to bed and Laxy woke me up at 8 like he said he would. We tried to get Adam up but he didn’t want to go anymore. It was worth it though, I made a waffle with the wafflemaker. I also had an english muffin, some orange juice and a bowl of raisin bran. I dined like a king.
After breakfast we checked out by noon and drove to Minnesota. I watched Run fat Boy run on the way. It’s a pretty good movie. In Minnesota we stayed at adams aunts house, but she wasn’t there so we had to the place to ourselves. That night we went to the grocery store to get some food. I made some pasta, and fries. Laxy got some super delicious hummus and Jake got some pancakes for breakfast. We dined like kings once again and relaxed. I was so full.
Day 29.
Today we didn’t leave the house until about 4. So it was a very half lazy day. We took care of laundry and hung out. We then went to the Mall of America! We went on two rides, sponge bobs rock bottom ride and the green roller coaster ride featured in Mighty Ducks. The one that makes Charlie and fulton barf. We then explored the mall for a couple hours, I got an orange julius. mmmm. We then went to a Noodles and Company for dinner. It was so delicious! We then went on an adventure in St. Paul………..Then we went back to the place and got some sleep.
Day 30.
We left Minnesota in the early morning and made our way to Mt. Rushmore. We got there around 5ish. For lunch we stopped at a Hardees and had some quality fast food. There was this old grumpy impatient man behind us in line. The food was good.
At mount rushmore we went on the Presidents slide, which are bobsleds. So fun! Afterwards we drove up to mount rushmore and took the presidents trail. You can get pretty close when u take the presidents trail and the heads are actually pretty huge! We also stopped in the sculptors house where we discovered there is a hidden hall of records to the side a little behind the heads. Its not visible from any visitor viewpoints. We also stopped at a little strip mall on the way down from mount rushmore but it was not crackin.
Before we got to mount rushmore I got pulled over for speeding. The officer was so nice though! He made me sit in his car/suv and was asking me all these questions about our trip. I thought he was writing me a ticket and then at the last moment he said “here you go, this is just a courtesy warning you dont have to pay anything”. I was so relieved! If I knew he was writing me a warning I would have talked to him a little more.
We also got stopped on a highway under construction where we had to wait for a pilot car to lead us thr ough the highway because they were only letting one side go at a time. I got to be the leader of the cars because I was right behind the pilot car.
That night we were headed to Seattle. I was driving and we were in Wyoming. The gas was almost low and we drove through this really small town that only had one gas station but it looked close. So I continued on this small highway. There were no gas stations or anything on this highway for more than 90 miles and I was definitely not going to make it to the end with what we had. So I turned around and went back to the town hoping to somehow get lucky. By the time I got back in the town we were on empty, thankfully one of the pumps was still on so we could use our card to fill up. I was so happy that the pump was on. It was pretty scary driving down the highway because I saw so many deer, I’d say I saw at least 7! I had been driving all day so I handed the wheel down to Adam. At about 4am he pulled into a rest area and we slept for a few hours.
Day 31.
We continued on the road, and stopped for gas. Adam lost his phone at a taco bell we stopped at about an hour outside of seattle. It must have gotten lost outside when he was out there changing. We got into seattle and drove through the city. Jake Laxy and I were planning to stay with Laxy’s aunt and Adam wanted to stay at a hostel in the city because he wanted to explore. The hostel didn’t know if they had any beds and they wouldn’t be able to tell him for another hour or so. He decided to just come with us and stay at Laxys aunts. We showed up and met the family, such nice people. We were going to go to another relatives house for some dinner, but his aunt insisted on making us some food so we were going to eat two dinners. Remember, we just had taco bell too. So we ate some more food. We then went to the other relatives house and ate some more. We also met some other relatives who were really nice and funny.
After we ate, we went back to the house we were staying at. They brought over an RV from the other house for Adam and I to sleep in. It was amazing sleeping in the RV! I slept in a little bed up above the drivers/passengers seat. It was so comfortable and cool! We hung out with Laxy’s cool cousin AJ, had some drinks then called it a night. We played kings cup and Adam lost.
Day 32.
Today we woke up early and went to a shopping center to hop on a expressway bus to get into seattle. While waiting adam went to find an atm and we missed the bus because he didn’t make it back in time. So Laxy drove into the city. We went to a pizza place adam really likes called hot mommas. It was pretty good. We then found some parking right down the street for a good deal. The guy working there was super nice and he said it was okay if we parked longer than the 10 hour limit. I also saw 13 coins which is a wonderful place we ate at last time I was in Seattle. I love Seattle. We took a nice stroll through the city to the space needle. Seattle is so nice because everything is so close! We hung out at the space needle for a little bit then walked down to the piers. We walked along the waterfront until we got to the Pike Market place. There we watched the guys toss the fish around, we also got some donuts from this very popular donut shop right next to the fish tossers.
We walked through the market place, saw the first starbucks. We then walked to Pioneer Square where the underground tour is. The next tour was sold out and if we went to the one after we would have been late to the game so we just bought tickets for tomorrow’s 10am tour. We explored the toy store across the street, such a cool toy store! We then walked down 1st street to safeco. It was such a short walk! We stopped at the shops in front of qwest field and then continued. We got in line behind home plate and waited for the gates to open. We got our franky G bobbleheads and watched batting practice from behind home plate. The mariners played the cleveland indians and they lost pretty bad. Laxy and I got some garlic fries, they messed me up.
After the game we walked back to our car through the city. It took us about 40 minutes so it wasn’t bad at all. We stopped by hot mommas again because adam wanted some more pizza before we made our way back. Oh and adam locked the keys in the car earlier so when we got back we called triple A so the guy could get the keys out.
Day 33.
Today we woke up early again. We had to make it into seattle by 9:50 and Laxy’s aunts house is about 40 minutes outside of Seattle. Adam drove so he could drop us off in front of the underground tour. The underground tour was so awesome! It was really neat to go down there and walk around. The tour guides were super funny too. Afterwards we met back up with adam and went back to laxy’s aunts house. We hung out for a bit then went to this ethnic festival they were having at a park nearby. It was super cool to go there, they had good ass food and some cool stuff to see. LAIR was going on too! we saw some guys fighting and we talked to one of the guys and he told us some stuff about it. He was super nice too. We also watched some thug kids doing some crump dancing and explaining what goes into it. It was interesting…We got some fresh squeezed lemonade, soups and I got some jamaican food. Adam spilt some soup on his hand. Laxys cousin gave us a free shaved ice too.
We went back to the house and hung out because they were having a BBQ that night. A bunch of his family members came over and we all ate. I tried some crab, the kind that you have to actually work for to eat. It was a pain, but an experience. There was some other good foods too. We had some drinks and then Jake and I went to bed early. Laxy and adam stayed up a bit longer and finished a game of kings cup we started. Adam lost again and had to drink the kings cup that had popcorn, beer, soda and a fart in it! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA. so funny.
