Day 14.

Hello,

Today Adam woke me up at around 8:45. We woke up early because we wanted to be able to get ready and make it to the new Yankee stadium at least an hour before the game started so we could check out the ballpark.  Well we ended up leaving a little after 10. We got to the stadium and parked in a lot right next to the old Yankee stadium. It was really cool to see the old one and the new one right next to each other.  Jake, Laxy and I went into the ballpark a little before Adam because he had to wait for Amanda and Mckenna to show up so he could give them their tickets.  We walked in and got some free G-Force cards. We entered right behind homeplate which was cool. I snapped some photos behind the plate and we started walking around the park. After a complete trip we went up to our seats. We sat in the bleachers in right center 8 rows up. It was real nice because our view wasn’t obstructed by the restaurant they put out there in center field. It was pretty toasty though. The game started and after the first inning Jake Laxy and I went to get some beverages. It was really cool to see the fans in the bleachers do the roll call when the game started. We got some souvenir sodas above the restaurant in center field and hung out up there on the patio for a few innings.  There were some home runs and some good plays. While up on the patio I spotted some vomit in the distance. What shocked me was how people were standing there without moving or even reacting to it! I was eating some sunflower seeds and spitting the shells on the ground and I realized there was a guy trying to sweep them up while I was spitting them out. Well Laxy notified me. It was strange and I felt bad for eating seeds, but I shouldn’t have because I was at a ball game. So I thought that was strange. Oh, and when I was buying my soda this kid in front of me turned around and ran into me, I apologized even though it was his fault and he said “what the fuck ” in a new york accent. What an idiot. Anway we decided to walk around the park and check out the sites while the game was going on. We eventually ended up behind home plate which was really cool. We stood there and watched a good portion of the game. Before we got behind home plate we were in right field and Laxy was eating seeds and spitting them on the ground, I was too but laxy had the bag in his hand so it looked like only he was eating seeds. Well the usher standing near us told laxy to spit his seeds into a cup and the usher used his foot to sweep the seeds to the side. Once again, another example of how they do not enjoy people eating seeds at their park….doesnt make sense. The game was pretty interesting, the Yankees almost came back in the but they couldn’t pull it off. So the Yankees are the first home team we have seen lose so far on this trip. Our record now stands at 5-1.

Well after the game we made our way into Manhattan. Our first stop was Time Square. It was crackin. We stopped at a souvenir shop and walked around the area for a bit. We also went to a 3 story drug store called Duane Reade. After that we walked through the city for a good long while. We saw a bunch of people gathered in a park like area waiting to watch a free movie on a big screen. It was neat to see all the people there. We then walked to the empire state building. Right by the Empire state building we saw some girls ask someone to take their picture with a man. At first we thought it was just a group of friends but somehow came to realize it was probably someone famous they were taking a pic with. Laxy saw the man and instantly thought Clive Owen.  He was close, but it actually turned out to be Gerard Butler.  Adam was the one who got the name right.  Before he could remember the name I went up to the girls after they took the picture to ask what that guys name was because I definitely recocgnized him.  They seemed to be big fan.  They told me it was Gerard Butler. I asked what movies he had been in and they listed a bunch including 300, and P.S I love you.  I knew I recognized him from a movie because I watched P.S. I love you not too long ago! He looked real nice. He looked at us and smiled…too bad we couldn’t get a picture with him.  After walking down from there Adam took off to hang out with Amanda and Mckenna. Jake Laxy and I took this time to explore the city. We got a subway pass and went to little Italy. In Little Italy we went to a Italian restaurant I think I went to on the other road trip I went on. It was called Rudys. The food was delicious. Jake and I fell in love with our waitress. She was so cute. I can’t explain it. Well after we ate we hopped back on the subway and went to the site of the World Trade Center. It was crazy. It was very sad and when you are there you can’t believe what happened there.  We also saw a little memorial with flowers and some candles it was really sad. After walking around the site of the WTC we walked down to Wall St. We walked down wall street and checked out the sites. We then got back on the subway and went to Grand Central Station. To my surprise, grand central is the huge station you see in movies and pictures! I was so excited. The subway system in New Y ork can be a bit confusing, but with mine and Laxys expert knowledge combined we were able to breeze through the city. From the grand central station we walked to the Rockefeller center. We walked around the area for a bit and made our way back to the car. Which was parked in a free parking spot right down the street from Time Square. After getting to the car we made our way back to Laxy’s relatives house where I am writing this blog entry. Well it is almost 4 am and I am getting tired so it is time for sleep.

Goodnight.
